Conservatives VS Liberals

A VERY conservative friend emailed me the following “humorous” selection.

If a conservative doesn’t like guns, he doesn’t buy one.
If a liberal doesn’t like guns, then no one should have one.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn’t eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants to ban all meat products for everyone.

If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy.
A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly enjoys his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he loudly demands legislated respect.

If a black man or Hispanic is conservative, they see themselves as independently successful.
Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.

Possibly because I AM conservative, I see a LOT of truth in this!

In my opinion, most conservatives expect to take care of their own problems. They don’t look to the government to take care of them.

Liberals are constantly trying to pass legislation to fix all problems and take care of everyone.

Liberals = big government & raise taxes.
Conservatives = small government & lower taxes.

I don’t want the government to take care of me - I can take care of myself! I don't expect the government to protect me from my OWN stupidity - I believe in personal responsibility and common sense. Just protect me from harm (foreign and domestic), and stay out of my life! Let me keep the money I earn - I am SURE I can spend my money more wisely than the government.

I have yet to see anything run by the government that they don’t mess up.
