I think it is SO ironic that the current economic crisis is bringing out experts that recommend living within your means! What a NOVEL idea!

Isn’t that COMMON SENSE?! Isn’t that what everyone SHOULD have been doing all along?!

I DO feel sorry for those losing their jobs. That has to be terrifying!

But I don’t feel sorry for people who are now in deep financial debt caused by their own stupidity and greed. They should NOT have purchased a house and vehicles they couldn’t afford. They should NOT have run up credit card debt purchasing crap they couldn’t pay for. With the average interest rate over 18%, (and some MUCH higher!), these people have to be mathematically/financially illiterate to be willing to pay these OUTRAGEOUS interest rates in the first place!

And they say that is the “typical American”?! Well, maybe this economic crisis is really a blessing that will encourage SOME people to live WITHIN their means.

I live well BELOW my means. I suppose that is why I lack compassion for those who live so irresponsibly.
