Four years ago Obama foretold the strategy that he has used for re-election. He said if you can’t run on your record, you attack your opponent. If you can't run on your record, you need to make the people run away from your opponent. If you can't talk about the big things, you need to stick to the small things. You make a big election about small things.

and it worked perfectly. Half of the voters fell for it.
